Apply discounts when creating orders on the POS 

A discount is a reduction in the usual price of a product. On a POS system, the ability to apply discounts to an order is crucial for maintaining customer satisfaction and managing your business effectively.  

In this article, GoSELL will guide you on how to apply discounts when creating orders on the POS. 

Step 1: Log in to the GoSELL admin page (Link: https://admin.gosell.biz/login). 

Step 2: From the left of the admin page, select Orders => POS – Instore Purchase. 

Step 3: The system will automatically redirect you to the Create Instore Order page. 

Step 4: After selecting the products, to apply a discount for the customer, click on the Promotions option in the Order Details section. Here, you will have three types of promotions to choose from: 

  • Discount Code: The system will display all the discount codes you have created. Select the code that matches the customer’s eligibility and the conditions stated in the code. (For more information on how to create discount codes, click HERE)
  • Discount Amount: Enter the amount you want to deduct from your customer’s order. (e.g., 10 USD). 
  • Discount %: Enter the percentage you want to deduct from your customer’s total order amount. (e.g., 10%). 

Step 5: Click on the Complete button to finish applying discounts when creating an order on the POS system. 

Note:  

  • The discount amount will be automatically removed if there are any changes to the products in the cart: adding new products, removing products, changing product quantities, changing product prices, or adding custom discounts to products. 
  • Variants of a product with different prices can have different discounts applied. 
  • If you are unable to apply the discount, please check the connection between the POS system and the internet or the conditions for applying the discount code.
