Create discount codes for products/services based on customer segmentation 

Creating personalized discount codes for specific customer groups not only encourages repeat purchases but also enhances customer satisfaction and loyalty, ultimately boosting sales revenue. Follow the steps below to create product/service discount codes based on customer groups in the GoSELL dashboard. 

Step–by–step guide: 

Step 1: Log in to the Admin Page at: https://admin.gosell.biz/. 

Step 2: Click on the Customers section and select Segments. 

Step 3: Click the Create segment button at the top of the management screen to create a new customer group. 

Step 4: Enter the customer group information and set the grouping conditions.  

Only customers who meet All conditions or Any of the following conditions will be grouped together:

Step 5: Click Save to complete the segment process. 

Step 6: Select the Promotions section and click Create discount. 

The system will display Product discount code/Service discount code. Depending on your purpose, click on the corresponding option. 

Step 7: Enter all necessary information to create the discount code as follows: 

  • Name: The title of the campaign or promotion. 
  • Discount code: The code customers will enter at checkout to redeem the discount. There are two ways to create a discount code: 
  • Manually enter a discount code: It’s recommended to keep the code under 12 characters, simple, and easy to remember. 
  • Generate code: The system will automatically generate a random code of letters and numbers. 
  • Active date: The period during which the promotion will be active. 
  • Time frame: Select the start and end date for the discount code. 
  • No expiry date: The discount code will be valid indefinitely. 
  • Discount type: Choose the discount type: 
  • Percentage (%): Percentage discount off the order value. 
  • Fixed amount: A fixed amount discount on the order. 
  • Free shipping: Choose the desired shipping carrier to apply a fixed discount on shipping costs. 
  • Usage limit:  
  • Limit number of times this coupon can be used: The code can only be used a certain number of times; once the limit is reached, the code will become invalid. 
  • Limit to one use per customer: Each customer can only use this code once. 

Step 8: Set the coupon conditions. 

Set up conditions to ensure the effectiveness of the promotion: 

  • Customer segment: Check the Specific segment option and select the group you created earlier or check on All customers to apply promotion for all. 
  • Minimum requirements: 
  • None. 
  • Minimum purchase amount. 
  • Minimum quantity of items. 
  • Payment method (applies to product discount codes): 
  • Cash. 
  • PayPal. 
  • Bank transfer. 
  • Platform: 
  • Web: Applies to purchases and payments made on the website. 
  • In-store: Applies to purchases and payments made at the store (currently only applicable to products). 

Step 9: Click Save to finalize the discount code creation. 

Note: You can follow the same steps to create service discount codes for specific customer groups.
