Configure commission for your affiliates (External store) 

Affiliate commission refers to an amount or percentage of revenue that a company pays to its affiliates based on their sales performance. Calculating affiliate commissions accurately is crucial as it directly impacts a company’s revenue. 

However, many businesses still rely on spreadsheets or Excel files to manage their affiliate commissions, which can lead to data errors and financial losses. To address this issue, GoSELL offers an affiliate commission management feature that can be used by existing website owners. Read on to learn how to set up affiliate commissions. 

Step-by-step Guide:  

Add a commission for a group of affiliates 

Step 1: From the Affiliate Management screen, select Commission => External Website => Add New.  

Step 2: Enter the commission information as shown in the example below. Details:  

• Effective time: the period when the discount is active. This time must be set for the future and cannot be selected for the past. 

• Targets: 

• If you select “Set as default commission”, these commission settings will apply to affiliates who are not assigned to any affiliate group or whose group does not have a commission set. 

• If you select “Apply the commission to an affiliate group”, these discount settings will only apply to that specific group, and other affiliate groups will not be affected.

Step 3: Continue to set the commission as a percentage or a fixed amount according to your policy.   

Step 4: Click Save to save the commission settings for your affliates.   

Step 5: Click Publish to apply the commission for the affiliates. If you do not complete this step, commission will not be active. 

Set up commission based on affiliate orders 

Commission by revenue

To calculate commission by revenue, regardless of other conditions, please follow these steps: 

Step 1: Click on Commission by orders => Commission by revenue to expand this section.  

 

Step 2: Click the Add button to add a new line, then fill in the following information: 

• Revenue from: Enter the revenue amount that the affiliate needs to achieve. It must be at least equal to or greater than the specified amount. 

• Percentage (%): The amount the affiliate can receive, calculated as the actual sales multiplied by the percentage. 

• Amount: The fixed amount the affiliate can receive upon reaching the revenue threshold. 

To delete a revenue setting line, click the delete icon as shown in the image below. 

Commission by orders 

To calculate commission by orders, regardless of other conditions, please follow these steps:  

Step 1: Click on Commission by orders => Commission by orders quantity to expand this section.   

Step 2: Click the Add button to add a new line, then fill in the following information:  

• Orders from: the number of orders the affiliate needs to achieve. It must be at least equal to or greater than the specified amount. 

• Percentage (%): the amount the affiliate can receive, calculated by multiplying the actual revenue (based on the total order value) by the percentage. 

• Amount: the fixed amount the affiliate can receive upon reaching the specified number of orders. 

To delete a revenue setting line, click the delete icon as shown in the image below. 

Commission by products 

To calculate commission by products, regardless of other conditions, please follow these steps: 

Step 1: Click on Commission by orders => Commission by products to expand this section.  

Step 2: Click the Add button to add a new line, then fill in the following information:  

• Product quantity from: the number of products the affiliate needs to achieve. It must be at least equal to or greater than the specified amount. 

• Percentage (%): the amount the affiliate can receive, calculated by multiplying the actual revenue (based on the total order value) by the percentage. 

• Amount: the fixed amount the affiliate can receive upon reaching the specified product quantity. 

To delete a revenue setting line, click the delete icon as shown in the image below.   

Note: When you configure all three types together, the system will calculate the commission based on either the highest or lowest value, depending on your settings.
